Dennis VanDerGinst is the managing partner of VanDerGinst Law. He received his law degree from DePaul University. He is licensed to practice law in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and the federal courts.
He has been featured on the National Public Radio program “America’s Premier Lawyers” and has been profiled in Fortune magazine. The American Association of Trial Lawyers has selected Dennis as one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers”. Law Dragon Publications has selected Dennis as one of the top lawyers in the country, a distinction bestowed upon less than one half of one percent of attorneys in the country. He has been selected by his peers as a “Leading Lawyer” in the area of personal injury law. He has also been selected as one of the top attorneys in the country by the “Best Attorneys Network”, which no only considers the votes of other attorneys, but that of clients as well. Chicago Lawyer magazine has recognized Dennis as one of the “Top Injury Lawyers.” He has earned induction into Who’s Who in American Law for the past twelve years, and is a Life Member of the National Registry Of Who’s Who in recognition of his efforts and achievements in the areas of law and business. His success is also illustrated by his membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an honor reserved for attorneys who have secured million dollar and multi million dollar verdicts and settlements, which Dennis has done numerous times.
Dennis is also very active in county, state and national bar associations. He is a State Delegate for the American Association for Justice. In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees for the Pound Civil Justice Institute. He is a member of the National Advisory Board for the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America and is a member of the Interstate Trucking Litigation Group of the American Association For Justice. He has written numerous articles and has given numerous lectures on a variety of legal topics, and has even taught Torts and Insurance law as an adjunct professor.

G. Trent Marquis
G.Trent Marquis obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois and his Juris Doctorate degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1972. He is licensed to practice in Illinois, Iowa and the federal courts. He began his career as a prosecutor, handling everything from speeding tickets to murder cases.
In 1976 he began private practice, where he has handled a wide variety of criminal and civil cases. Since 1986, his practice has primarily concentrated in plaintiff’s personal injury law, representing seriously injured individuals and the family members of tragic accidental death victims. Since 2003 he has also been a certified mediator. In recognition of his experience and successes, he has been selected as a “Leading Lawyer” by his attorney peers in the area of personal injury law.
John Westensee received his B.S. degree from Iowa State University and his Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and Iowa as well as the United States District Court, Southern District of Illinois.
His practice is primarily focused in the areas of Worker’s Compensation law (hearings and appeals) and Social Security Law (disability claims and hearings).
Mr. Campbell is a Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, native who has lived in the Quad Cities since 1992. He earned his undergraduate degree in History from Western Illinois University and his law degree from Southern Illinois University. He has been licensed to practice in Illinois since November of 1992 and in Federal Court, Central District of Illinois, since February of 1998.
Mr. Campbell previously practiced law as an Assistant Attorney General in Rock Island and as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Rock Island County. Prior to joining VanDerGinst Law, he served five years as an assistant public defender in Knox County.
As a member of the Illinois State Bar, Mr. Campbell has been active in attending sessions through the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, including:

Having participated in both prosecution and defense of countless felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic cases, Mr. Campbell has extensive experience in criminal matters. His practice is currently focused on criminal defense, traffic cases, family law, small claims, and general practice matters.
Born in Alaska in 1953, Mr Wassell grew up in the Quad Cities. After serving three years in the United States Marine Corps., he was honorably discharged in 1977. Mr. Wassell received his A.A. from Black Hawk College, his B.S. from St. Ambrose University, and his Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University College of Law.
Before obtaining his law degree, Mr. Wassell spent seven years as a police officer. He also has experience as Assistant States Attorney in Henry County and Winnebago County.
Licensed to practice law in Illinois and the United States District Court, Central District of Illinois, Mr. Wassell is also a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.
Much of his spare time outside the office is devoted to the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where he serves as a Cub Master and Den Leader. He is also active in V.F.W Post 8078 and the Marine Corps League, as well as church-related activities. He also stays actively involved in the local political scene.
Mr. Wassell is a frequent guest speaker at Black Hawk College, the Regional Law Enforcement Center, and local television programs. Criminal law and personal injury law are the primary focuses of his practice.
